OK! THE TITLE SHOULD GO!!!
Papa Bear on May 20th, 2007
That’s pretty eye opening. I knew there were several stars much bigger than our own, but not that much bigger.
Duke on May 22nd, 2007
So Don, are you refering to the title, That is Big, or the subtitle, Holy Shit? Because either way, screw off with the censorship. We don’t need more people like you with closed minds. Oh, and ya, that is big.
Carl on May 28th, 2007
Holy shit indeed. Unbelievable.

The numbers are messed up:P
e.g. Pollux 6 962 500 is smaller than Arcturus 4 177 500(???)
…and there are more bugs just like this.
Anyway, great animation:)

Hey! What happened to Uranus?
musicmixingguru on June 12th, 2007
one of those stars seem to be the size of a small galaxy. This animation reminded me of men in black at the end when we find out how really small us humans are.
Zarkk on June 12th, 2007
musicmixingguru, I don’t know if you where just using a hyperbole, but the largest star in that animation is 3,676,200,000 kilometers, or 0.000388582946 lightyears. The closest star to us is 4 lightyears away. Though our solar system is only 11,369,448,000 kilometers in diameter, so those last couple would take up a very large percentage of it.

Too bad they didn’t have enough room to show Larry Ellison’s ego and Paris Hilton’s vagina.

Holy shit and stuff - then think that this is REAL - it’s not fiction. This is what is out there. Compared to the sun, earth is a grain of sand cirlcing a hot air balloon. And the same relationship goes for the sun compared to ‘my cephei’
How can I wrap my mind around that?
Raalnan5 on June 19th, 2007
Thanks, I was feeling pretty unimportant, and then I came across your mean spirited video. Now I feel really insignificant. I am going to uninstall StumbleUpon right away!
Nyar on June 19th, 2007
Actually, the closest star is only 1 AU.

JP on June 21st, 2007
I’d love to show this to my son, but thanks for ruining it with the title, moron.
Ditto on June 22nd, 2007
I Ditto what JP said.
Sad it couldn’t be kept clean so not to ruin it for parents to show the kids.
I’m sure there will be some X rated come backs from the cheap seats gallery.
Anyone know where one can view the G rated video of this?
Will on June 22nd, 2007
Oh you guys, if you would just click on the Google Video button and then ‘Go to Google Video’, you would see it without my ‘language’. Or try this…

And stop being anonymous posting flamers, it means i can’t send you an email showing you what an idiot you are being.

Shit on my chest and call me Reginald VanHarrington VIII… that is huge!
Ladadadada on September 30th, 2007
Now that you’re all feeling insignificant and stuff, remember that none of those were massive enough to collapse into a black hole. There are bigger things out there.
Imagine every bit of matter represented in that video and squash it into something the size of a full stop.[*]
Not to mention the incredibly huge amounts of empty space in between these massive objects.
[*] - Of course, we don’t actually know how big a black hole would be… event horizon and all that stuff.
